‘Help slow the spread’: PV Sindhu spreads awareness on coronavirus through #SafeHandsChallenge – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The world continues to be at a standstill as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread. Along with many other things, sporting activities across the globe are on hold.

In the meantime, sports stars continue to spread awareness and educate the public, through social media, on ways to stay away from the virus.

In the latest attempt to fight the deadly disease, ace India shuttler PV Sindhu became part of the Safe Hands Challenge.

Sindhu in her latest tweet can be seen washing her hands and has asked cricketer Virat Kohli, Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju and tennis icon Sania Mirza to replicate the same, in turn spreading more awareness about hand sanitization.

The World Health Organisation has been continuously asking people to wash their hands with soap regularly to avoid infection.

The pandemic, which originated in Wuhan city of China in early December last year, has so far claimed more than 6000 lives across the globe.

In India itself, more than a hundred people have tested positive and three people have died.
